Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GolfBet mobile application and related services ("GolfBet", "we", "us", or "the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

GolfBet is a social scorecard and round-tracking app for golf. Features may include live scoring, round chat, friend connections, optional in-app purchases or subscriptions, and tools that help groups track informal betting or side games during a round. The Service is provided for personal, recreational use among you and your playing partners.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use GolfBet. If you use the Service on behalf of a group or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that group to these Terms.

3. Accounts and security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile information reasonably up to date.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or abuse risk.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
• Harass, threaten, defraud, or abuse other users, or post unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content in round chat or elsewhere in the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' data, or our systems; or interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service except as expressly permitted by law.
• Use automated means to create accounts or send spam.

5. Betting, stakes, and real money

GolfBet may display points, "skins," or informal amounts that you and your group choose to track for fun. The Service does not operate as a casino, sportsbook, or licensed gambling provider. You and your group are solely responsible for whether any stakes or payouts are lawful where you play, how money changes hands (if at all), and any tax or reporting obligations. We do not guarantee settlement of debts between players.

6. Subscriptions and payments

If you purchase a subscription or digital goods, those purchases are processed by the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) and/or our third-party billing partner. Pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are subject to the store's policies and any in-app disclosures shown at purchase. We may change subscription features or pricing with reasonable notice where required.

7. User content

You retain rights to content you submit (such as display names, messages, and round data). You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and share that content as needed to operate the Service—including showing your scores and messages to other players in the same round. You represent that you have the right to submit the content you provide and that it does not violate others' rights.

8. Our intellectual property

The GolfBet name, logo, app design, and software are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited right to use the Service as offered, these Terms do not grant you any ownership or license in our intellectual property.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Handicap, scoring, and betting calculations are for convenience only and may not match official tournament or handicap-system rules unless expressly stated.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we and our affiliates, directors, and employees will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for claims arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (USD $50), except where liability cannot be limited by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; we will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law (for example, in-app or by email). Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires your explicit consent.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account as described in the app and on our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which the operator of GolfBet principally operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that State have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, unless a different forum is required by mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
